Creating Brushes

Creating Brushes

1; First, obviously, open your photoshop.

2; Click on new, and set your options. Make sure transparent is checked off!

(I used my width and height as 100 pixels each, but you don't need to do that)

3; Click on the brush tool. It may be hiding under the pencil.

Click on the arrow beside the brush currently in use to open the brush preset picker.
Then click on the arrow in the circle pointing to the right. Select a brush, and delete it by selecting delete brush. If you cannot click it, don't panic! You just haven't selected a brush you want to delete. Select a brush, and then delete it. Delete all the brushes so that you have an empty place to save your brush(es) in. If you have a ton of brushes to delete, my suggestion is to choose another set of default brushes. Thick heavy brushes set only has 5 brushes to delete.

4; Now, draw your brush! You can type things, use flowers, scribbles, texture shapes, even toenails images would work!
I will use a scribbled heart I made.

5 *optional*; For brushes, I hate having messy layers, so if you want, merge them together by pressing CTRL + Shift + E. There. Clean layers to please me :P

6; Now all you have to do is save your brushes! Go to Edit --> Define brush --> and type in the brush name.

(Don't worry, your text wont be grey. I just wanted to save as much space as possible!)

7; Save your pack by clicking on the arrows I told you before, and selecting 'Save brushes...' (13th option from top) I won't add an image for this, since it's really straight forward.

And there you have it! Your own brush! If you want to make more than one brushes in a pack, just follow steps 4-6.
